Before you write

Write it the same day. A note three days later is a recollection.
Describe, do not judge. Not “she is bright” — “she counted the seven shells twice and got seven both times”.
One child per note. Two children, two notes.
Tag the Curricular Goal after you have written what you saw, never before.
End with what you will change in the classroom tomorrow.
